Shoes come in all different styles and colours, below I have picked out some shoes styles I think will go well with any prom dress.

If you want to play it safe with the colour, go for gold or silver. These will add that little extra sparkle to your outfit without overtaking it.

Pointed Toe Shoes

Pointed toe shoes are classic and elegant, they go with almost every style of dress.

For a more understated glamorous look go for a white satin like the ones in the photo on the left.

To add shine to your outfit, go for a metalic material like the gold ones pictured.

Open Toe Shoes

Open toe shoes are a very sexy style and perfect for showing off you newly pedicured feet.

There are 2 main styles of open toe shoes, Full open which as the name suggests, shows most of your feet with only a few straps across them, and Peep Toe, which you can see in the photo, show only the tips of your toes.

Backless Open Toe Shoes

Backless open toe shoes are much the same as the Open Toe Shoe only they have no back on them.

I would not recommend this style if you are planning on doing a lot of dancing, as the lack of heel support can make them slip of, which could cause injury to you or others.

Flat Shoes

If you are overly tall, or are not comfortable wearing heels, there are plenty of beautiful flat shoes out there.

Some are plain in design where others have embelishments like buckles or bows. They also come in a wide range of materials from canvas to leather.

These are perfect for dancing the night away without worrying about aching feet.

And you can wear them more than just on special occasions, as they will go well with any outfit, from jeans to mini skirts.

Metalic Pumps

Metalic pumps are very similar in style to flats, only with that extra sparkle.

Someone once told me a very handy tip. If you are going to be dancing all night and want to make a grand entrance, wear your heels for the first hour or so, but have a pair of flat shoes with you to change into. It's far better than walking around barefoot or having aching feet for days.
